First, for those who want to use velcro polishing pads with this unit, it does NOT come with a velcro backing pad. You can buy a PC backing pad (there are two) or you can, like me, for a few dollars more buy a "Meguiars Softbuff Dual Action Velcro Backing Plate For 6 1/2and 7 Inch Pads". It fits perfectly and works well with the supplied balance weight, works well with Meguiar's velcro pads and is reputed to be the best velcro backing pad.
The PC sander/polisher is the first DA unit used by folks for auto work and I think it is still the best. Great performance, great handling, great durability.
Very happy with mine...after the backing pad upgrade.

Very dissapointed. I have been using porter cable for 17 years and the 2 sanders I purchases gave off a big vibration in your hand. I have been using these sanders and have never had this problem before. I do not if it is because they "redesigned them and they are now new and improved" or what. Very dissapointed.
